Hyssop – Hyssopus Officinalis

  • Culinary use

    This plant has a strong, slightly bitter flavour and as a result is used in minimal quantities to add bite to salads, soups and meat dishes.

    Hyssop is one of the main ingredients in Vermouth and Absinthe.

  • Medicinal use

    Hyssop is an herb with several therapeutic applications. Its properties include antispasmodic, expectorant, scar healing and digestive. Amongst its various uses, hyssop is ideal as a sedative for coughs and asthma, promotes digestion and eliminates intestinal gas.

    Hyssop essential oil is used in the perfume and liqueur industries because of its pleasant scent.
