Garlic Chive – Allium tuberosum

  • Culinary use

Also known as Chinese Garlic, Garlic Chive is a perennial bulbous rustic herb from East Asia. The light aroma is more delicate and digestible than normal garlic, making the Garlic Chive plant particularly suitable for fish, meat and soup dishes and to give that extra-touch to fresh cheeses and eggs.

Garlic Chive is widely used in Asian cuisine and can be found in Japanese tempura.

  • Medicinal use

Garlic Chive’s leaves have an antibacterial action, work against hypertension and have diuretic and expectorant properties.
